Typical applications include gears, springs, plates, bearings, bushings and housings. The Food and Drug Administration has approved virgin UHMWPE for use in the food industry, but reprocessed UHMWPE is not approved for food contact. You can find UHMWPE plastic in an array of food containers for in-home use.
