The SUKO PTFE Wire Extrusion Machine is designed for producing PTFE-insulated wire and specialty cable components. It can apply a controlled PTFE insulation layer around metal conductors while maintaining stable feeding, extrusion and take-up.

PTFE cannot be processed in the same way as ordinary melt-flow plastics. Therefore, the production line must coordinate material preparation, extrusion, lubricant removal, sintering, cooling and collection.

SUKO configures each line according to the required wire structure and production conditions. Both single-layer and double-layer PTFE insulation systems are available.

Parameter Reference Specification
Insulation Material PTFE
Insulation Structure Single layer or double layer
Production Speed 5-20 m/min reference range
Accumulator Capacity 30 m
Capstan Power 1.5-5.5 kW
Take-Up Type Shaft-type take-up
Take-Up Reel PN400-PN1250 configurations
Take-Up Power 1.5-5.5 kW

Actual speed and configuration depend on conductor size, insulation thickness,
layer structure, material condition and finished product requirements.

PTFE Wire Extrusion Process

A typical production line includes conductor payoff, guiding and tension control, PTFE extrusion, thermal processing, cooling, accumulation, capstan traction and shaft-type take-up.

First, the conductor enters the extrusion section at a controlled speed. The PTFE material is then formed around the wire through the extrusion die. After extrusion, the insulated wire passes through the required drying and sintering stages.

Finally, the finished wire is cooled, pulled by the capstan and collected by the take-up unit. The exact equipment arrangement depends on the wire diameter, insulation thickness, layer structure and production target.

Wire and Cable Applications

This equipment can be configured for:

  • PTFE-insulated electrical wire
  • High-temperature lead wire
  • Chemical-resistant instrument wire
  • Sensor and control wiring
  • Electronic equipment connection wire
  • Specialty wire and cable cores
  • Single-layer or double-layer PTFE insulation

The machine can be adapted for different conductor materials and finished wire structures. SUKO will help determine the suitable line arrangement from a drawing, sample, existing product specification or application description.

SUKO Manufacturing Experience

SUKO has experience in the development and delivery of PTFE wire and cable extrusion equipment. We manufacture the extrusion system and integrate the supporting payoff, traction, accumulation and take-up units into a coordinated production line.

Our experience in PTFE processing machinery also allows us to evaluate extrusion stability, thermal processing and finished product requirements together.

Each project can be configured according to the customer’s actual product. The equipment is assembled and tested before shipment.

FAQ

What is a PTFE wire extrusion machine?

A PTFE wire extrusion machine applies PTFE insulation around a metal conductor. The production line controls extrusion, thermal processing, traction and take-up to produce PTFE-insulated wire.

Can the machine produce both wire and cable components?

Yes. The line can be configured for different conductor diameters, insulation thicknesses and reel sizes. It can produce individual insulated wires as well as PTFE-insulated cores used in cable assemblies.

Can it produce double-layer PTFE insulation?

Yes. Single-layer and double-layer configurations are available. The suitable arrangement depends on the required insulation structure and finished product.

Is this a complete extrusion line?

SUKO can supply a complete line with payoff, extrusion, thermal processing, cooling, accumulator, capstan and take-up equipment. The final configuration is selected according to the product.

How can SUKO recommend a machine configuration?

You may send a wire sample, photograph, drawing or simple product description. SUKO will help evaluate the extrusion structure, reel arrangement and supporting equipment.
