The Washing Machine is specifically designed for cleaning PTFE scrap after the cutting step. After the cutting machine reduces hard lumps into small chips, the chips are fed into the washing machine. Electric rotation drives the material to tumble and rub against itself with water, effectively removing surface dust, oil, and other impurities. Working Principle

The machine is equipped with a rotating drum or mixing paddles driven by an electric motor at a constant speed. Material inside the drum tumbles continuously, creating friction between chips while being thoroughly rinsed with water or cleaning solution. The combination of mechanical action and water flow removes dust, oil, and adhered impurities from the surface of PTFE chips. After washing, the dirty water is drained, and the clean chips are removed for the next step – dry milling.

  • PTFE scrap after cutting – Removal of dust and impurities generated during the cutting process.
  • Prerequisite step before dry milling – Ensures that material entering the dry mill is clean, preventing dust from affecting grinding efficiency and final powder purity.
  • Other plastic or polymer chips – Suitable for cleaning various rigid plastic chips before further processing.

Operation Requirements

  • Ensure chips are relatively uniform in size after the cutting step for best cleaning results.
  • Do not overload the washing machine – maintain a moderate batch size.
  • Washing time is typically 5–15 minutes, depending on the level of contamination.
  • After washing, drain thoroughly and either air dry or use low‑temperature drying to avoid introducing moisture into the dry mill.

If your process does not include washing, dust and oil from the cutting step may contaminate the dry mill and reduce powder quality. The washing machine is therefore a recommended component for producing high‑purity recycled powder.
